Helikx School Social Work and Research Department was established in the year 2013 October to establish School Social Workers in different schools as part of a Practitioner based PHD research conducted by our Chairman Mr. G Senthilkumar on “ A Study on Identification of Pupil Problem and Application of School Social Work”. The aim of HSSW is to provide a setting for teaching, learning and for the attainment of competence, confidence, improving the quality , life and education for children.
Helikx Open School had organized a National Seminar on “Changing Demands and Challenges for School Social Work” in collaboration with Department of Social Work PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore in the year 2011. Dr. Anjali Gandhi, Faculty member in the Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, one of the pioneer school social workers who were instrumental in establishing this field in India was the Key Speaker.
Our department newsletter “Bridge the Gap” published every month, composes of Case History, Remedial Teaching, Research Study provides informational updates, connect with different schools and social work practitioner.
